Why should "Out of Towners" have all the fun?

Monday, September 26, 2011

World Tourism Day is this Tuesday.  Too often, we think we have to travel far to be a tourist. Perhaps we should change our thinking and explore all the reasons tourists from all over the world visit our area.  The North State has many wonderful assets: the Sundial Bridge, art galleries and antique stores in Red Bluff, Shasta Lake, the New Clairvaux Winery, the Sacramento Discovery Center, and of course Rolling Hills Casino and Sevillano Links. This week, think like a tourist and start your world tour with a trip to the Rolling Hills Casino and Resort.

If you like to play golf and want to make a day and night of it, Sevillano Links has Play and Stay packages available that include hotel accommodations, all-you can-eat breakfast, a round of golf, cart usage, and range balls. Visit http://www.sevillanolinks.com/stayandplay/ for more information.

If you like to hunt, fish, and sport shoot, the Clear Creek Sports Club offers upland game bird and duck hunting, wild boar hunting, fly fishing, and trap/sporting clays. Contact the Clear Creek Sports Club at (530) 520-9464 for the full range of opportunities.

A tourist has to eat. Rolling Hills Casino has several dining options that make it worth being a tourist. The all-you-can-eat Rolling Hills Buffet features prime rib every day for lunch and dinner as well as a wide assortment of popular dishes.  If you want a dinner cooked to perfection just for you, Timbers Restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday from 5pm to 10pm.  Tucked away from the gaming floor, Timbers is the ideal place for a romantic getaway or special dinner.  For a quick bite to eat close to the action, Aroma’s Coffeeshop offers pizza, hot dogs, gourmet sandwiches, gelato, and specialty coffee drinks.

Stay overnight at the Rolling Hills Lodge or Inn.  Both beautiful hotels offer comfortable accomdations, and all-you-can eat breakfast.

Or park your “home away from home” in our RV Park with full electrical and water hookups. It’s safe and secure with 24-hour patrol.  Private showers and laundry are available at the Traveler’s Center.  Sevillano Links also offers Golf Play and Stay packages for the RV Park.  To take advantage of the RV Park Stay and Play, check in at Sevillano Links before checking into the RV Park.

No vacation is complete without entertainment.  Rolling Hills Casino is the North State’s premier entertainment destination with over 800 slot machines and the most popular table games including Blackjack, Emperor Pai Gow Poker, Texas Shootout, and Three-Card Poker.

This week’s Entertainment Calendar highlights include Monday Night Football, the $10,000 Piggy Smash finale on Friday, and the James Slack band on Saturday night.  Visit our entertainment calendar for more information about these and other upcoming events. http://rollinghillscasino.com/calendar/

We hope you have a fun journey to Rolling Hills Casino and Resort, your local tourist destination.

It’s better to play (and sometimes to watch): September 20 to 24

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

We have a slogan at Rolling Hills Casino: “It’s better to play.”

Sometimes watching others play is just as fun.  That’s certainly the case with Monday Night Football at Rolling Hills, where you can watch the big game each week on gigantic 14 foot screens, enjoy all-you-can eat appetizers, and have a shot at winning cash and prizes.

It’s also fun to watch someone put on goggles and grab a hammer to smash a piggy bank.  Every 30 minutes from 8pm to 11pm on Fridays in September, our computer randomly selects a table game or slot machine. The person playing with their Shasta Club card in the selected seat gets to choose a piggy bank containing $100 to $1,000.

Watching someone win a big jackpot is exciting.  However, I bet winning the jackpot is significantly more exciting. Just ask Guadalupe, who recently won a $25,000 jackpot playing slots!

Golf is something else that I think is more fun to play than watch.  This Saturday, September 24, there are two opportunities for golfing and camaraderie that benefit our community: Golf for a Cause to benefit Girls Inc. and the Corning Elementary 3rd Annual CEEF Golf Tournament. For more information on these two awesome events visit www.sevillanolinks.com.

It’s cheaper to play golf on Tuesdays and Thursdays if you are over 50.  Only $45. After you work up an appetite on the course, enjoy the buffet at ½ price.  Age does have its privileges on Senior Days.

Saturday Night Live Music is the same price for everyone regardless of whether you’ve earned extra privileges for age.  ADMISSION IS FREE.  This week Kelly McDonald band plays from 9pm to 1am. Work it up on the dance floor and call it play.

This week at Rolling Hills Casino: September 11 - 17: NorCal Open Golf, Return of Monday Night Football, and More

Monday, September 12, 2011

Why watch pro golf on TV when you can watch it this week live at Sevillano Links? And why watch the big NFL game alone on your couch, when it’s larger than life at Rolling Hills Monday night?  Bottom line, you can’t be part of the action if you are sitting in front of your TV set at home.

Read on for details about tournaments at Sevillano Links, plus Monday Night Football, Fiesta Friday, Piggy Smashes, Live Music Saturday Night and a community program that we applaud.

Monday through Wednesday, Sevillano Links hosts the 84th Annual Nor Cal Open, one of the most prestigious golf championships in the Western United States. Past Champions include Archer, Lema, Maltbie, Jacobsen, Sutherland, and Boyns, among others. This tournament is an NCPGA and NCGA Point event. Spectators are welcomed.

Sevillano Links at Rolling Hills Casino is a John Daly Signature, 18-hole championship golf course, and named a "Best New Golf Course" by Golfweek magazine. Click here for more information about our golf course: http://www.sevillanolinks.com.

Sevillano Links Golf Club hosts tNassau Tournament, Saturday, September 17. Tee times start at 8:30a.m. All participants must have handicap with Sevillano Links. To register, call the Golf Shop today 530-528-4600

Women, Mark your calendar: Golf Fore a Cause returns September 24.  Spend the afternoon with the girls, learn to play golf, and help raise money for programs that help girls reach their full potential. This annual fundraiser for Girls Inc. is fun and includes a morning tee party, golf clinic, boutiquing, and tee prize lunch. Most important, you get the priceless feeling of giving to empower girls to be smart strong and bold. For more information, visit www.sevillanolinks.com.

Football Fans: Our Monday night football tailgate parties kick off this week.  Watch the big games on a gigantic 14-foot screen.  Your $10 admission includes all you can eat appetizers and a chance to win great prizes.  Monday nights are humongous fun at Rolling Hills during football season.

It’s another Pig Smash this Friday. All you have to do to enter is play at Rolling Hills Casino with your Shasta Club card. Every 30 minutes from 8pm to 11pm, a random slot machine or table game set will be drawn.  If your seat is chosen, you’ll grab a mallet, choose your pig, and smash away to instantly win cash prizes from $100 to $1,000.  On Friday September 30th, the cash prizes increase with pigs containing $500 to $5,000.

Los Felinos and Los Babys in concert, Friday September 16. We are excited to present two legends in Latin Music.   Tickets on sale now at Coat Check. $20 pre-sale, $25 at the door.

James Buell Band Saturday Night.  Speaking of dancing, it’s another night of country with the James Buell Band, Saturday September 17 from 9pm to 1am.  Admission free.

New Games, New Coffee, New Deal, and More

Friday, September 09, 2011

Lots of new things to write about for this weekend, September 9 through September 11: New deals, new games, new coffees --- and the pigs are back!   Plus, Northern Heat returns with a new night of live music, Saturday from 9pm to1.

NEW IN GAMING:

This week a bank of slot machines in the non-smoking underwent a game conversion. The machines are the same, but the games are entirely different.  To convert a machine to a new game, a slot technician removes the old game circuit board and replaces it with a new one.  The software for the game is pre-programed on a chip on the circuit board.   It’s almost like replacing software on your computer, except that the slot machine software is installed on the hardware, which makes it secure and tamperproof.

The casino gets new games all the time. In fact, the casino has 300 new games that weren’t here last year.  Sometimes the new games are on new machines, such as the Rock Around the Clock games. Other times, existing machines undergo conversions to new games, as is the case with the bank of machines by the south entrance.  We continually replace machines and games because we want your every visit to be a new experience.

Just in case you were wondering: Rolling Hills Casino currently has 820 slot machines.  When we opened we only had 675.

NEW IN AROMA’S COFFEESHOP

Pumpkin Spice Latte.  I was skeptical when James Rosenbalm, Food and Beverage Manager invited me to sample one.  I couldn’t imagine pumpkin and coffee being a compatible taste combination.  I was wrong.  It was absolutely delicious.  And it was so beautiful I had to take a photo. Stop by Aroma’s and try one.

NEW DEALS

This weekend, we wanted to reward those of you checking in your Rolling Hills location on Facebook through your phone.  When you check in, you will see a screen with a coupon for $10 free slot play. Show that screen to the Shasta Club to redeem the deal.  Only one check-in per person.  The deal ends at 5:30 Sunday, September 11, 2011.

Keep checking back to the Rolling Hills Page on Facebook and the blog on our website for other upcoming deals and contests.

PIGS ARE BACK

It’s a new piggy bank smashing season. This year, the Casino made it even easier to participate. Every 30 minutes from 8pm to 11pm, we will draw a random slot machine or table game seat. If your seat is chosen, you’ll grab a mallet, choose your pig, and smash away to instantly win cash prizes from $100 to $1,000. On Friday September 30th, the cash prizes increase with pigs containing $500 to $5,000.
