Fly Girls “Tie It On” Breakfast: 9:00 AM

A Fly Girl needs her breakfast to start the day right — and a Fly Girl breakfast includes mimosas. Sponsored by St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

The Line on the Day: 9:45

To be a full-fledged Fly Girl, you have to know what to wear, how to cast, what’s biting what, and most important, how to have fun on a new adventure. After a brief orientation, you’ll rotate through five 30-minute workshop sessions including:

Boutique-ing Fly Girls Style: Fish for a catch you’ll love bringing home from your favorite North State boutiques. While you cast for bargains, taste wines inspired by breast cancer survivors from Cleavage Creek Cellars.

If You Teach a Woman to Fish: Learn to cast in our comprehensive Fly Fishing Workshop, taught by the Casting for Recovery team.

Fly Girls Take to the Water: Continue your fly-fishing instruction with one of our local guides, courtesy of Chico Fly Fishers. In this workshop, you will apply your casting techniques to the water at our casting pond.

Stepping into the Stream: Being a Fly Girl isn’t just about fly fishing! Intrinsically, it is about women connecting with nature and a deeper part of ourselves. It’s about being willing to take risks to learn something new that will allow us to commune with rivers and wildlife. It’s about finding an adventure all our own, and relishing it.

The Gear and the Flies: Learn to tie flies and the world of Entomology, presented by the Shasta Trinity Fly Fishers. Learn about the gear used in Fly Fishing and try it on. Sign up for your follow up, hands on, and fly fishing instruction.

Fly Girls Celebrate Life with Lunch and Laughter: 1:15 PM

Enjoy a delicious lunch and comedy with a cast of Fly Girls who have more real things to talk about than just fish stories.
